My friend Martin has just finished his degree in Classics and German and is getting prepared to write a terrific PhD thesis on the economy of the gift in Vergil. You may think of it as a remote topic, and you may be right. But as always with things that fascinate you, you can become pretty good at them and inspire other people to do some amazing things as well. He is going to do that.
